Brillion Plows Feature New-Style Reset Spring SUBSOILERS Subsoilers (58n) 20-2-38 Brillion Iron Works is the only farm equipment company in North America to use a new-style double-leaf auto reset spring on its tillage tools, according to the manufacturer, who says it outperforms any other spring on the market.
"It's far superior to conventional flat springs for maintaining uniform depth," says Brillion's Lee Kortens. "It's standard on our Landcommander and Compaction Commander rippers as well as our new Soil Commander which features interchangeable shank legs and individually mounted disk assemblies."
Key to the spring's success is its "tee pee"-like configuration which helps maintain constant 2,000 psi on shanks so they reset in a heartbeat when tripped by a buried rock or other object, Kortens says. "After continual tripping at the 12 to 20-in. working depth, conventional flat reset springs lose their shape, bowing out and slowing down reset time," he adds.
