Backed by a 20 yr. warranty, it has no bolts, never needs to be adjusted, and self feeds with no waste and no bridging, according to King.
A key design feature is an oscillating, star-shaped, feed agitating plate ù the feeder's only moving part. It oscillates rather than rotates to avoid excessive feed delivery. The vertical feed hopper is 12 in. in dia. and 25 in. high (49 in. with optional PVC extension). It remains stationary, with feed moving vertically down its sidewalls without any moving internal parts.
"Feed always self-feeds uniformly whether the feeder is full or near empty," King points out. "We preset the feed delivery opening at the factory."
On the largest "finishing model" for taking pigs from about 40 lbs. to market, the feed trough base (30 in. dia.) is made of thick ¢ in. steel. The complete feeder, including PVC hopper extension, weighs 264 lbs.and carries a 20 year warranty. Lighter steel is used to make lower cost models carrying 15, 10 or 5 yr. warranties.
All models perform exactly the same, differing only in weight and, therefore, years of service, King points out.
The largest deluxe "finishing model" Feeder King sells for $359. It's also available in a pre-nursery model (20 in. dia. base) and a nursery-grower model (24 in. dia. base). Coming soon is a "finishing model" equipped with a PVC sleeve or liner for self-feeding high moisture corn or other "sticky" rations.
