Automatic Balewagon HAY & FORAGE HARVESTING Bale Handling (5) 1-5-22 Iowa farmer Lavern Sunderman, of Clarinda, welcomes inquiries from manufacturers interested in putting his patented Automatic Balewagon into commercial production.
Sunderman built the first prototype in 1971 and had two improved prototypes custom built. They've been field tested with close to 100,000 bales over a wide range of conditions and different types of both square and round bales.
Each of 9 chambers hold 7 bales. When one chamber is full, the reel rotates to the next chamber. The pickup carries two bales, bringing total capacity to 65 bales.
The conveyor unloads bales into an elevator from either the front or rear of the machine. Other key features include: Automatic pickup of round or square bales whether on edge or lying flat; loads in 8 min. and unloads in 2 min.; measures under 8 ft. wide for highway transport; operates on hilly land.
