Refrigerator Medicine Cabinet LIVESTOCK Miscellaneous Steve Fluit Hull Iowa converted a non working refrigerator into a handy winter medicine cabinet for his livestock “I don’t have a heated shed close to my cattle treating facility to keep medicine from freezing during winter so I kept it in my shop ” says Fluit “I had to walk to the shop every time I needed to treat a sick calf and then return the medicine right away when I was done because medicine doesn’t take long to freeze in below-zero temperatures I considered building an insulated storage box but then I realized our old refrigerator cabinet is so well insulated it would do the job ” Fluit drilled a hole in back of the refrigerator for a cord to go through and installed a small space heater with a built-in thermostat to control the temperature inside He also placed a thermometer on the refrigerator’s bottom shelf to show the actual temperature “Now I have a heated medicine cabinet along with lots of shelves and storage Works great ” says Fluit Contact: FARM SHOW Followup Steve Fluit 2861 Gold Finch Ave Hull Iowa 51239 ph 712 476-6020 or 712 470-0437
