Corn Planter Folds Forward
“I’m pleased to share Paul’s invention with your FARM SHOW readers,” reports Mrs. Paul Teeter, of Fairfield, Iowa. Her husband Paul was killed accidentally shortly after his fold-forward invention won a “farm gadget” award at last year’s Iowa State Fair.

Corn Planter Folds Forward “I’m pleased to share Paul’s invention with your FARM SHOW readers ” reports Mrs Paul Teeter of Fairfield Iowa Her husband Paul was killed accidentally shortly after his fold-forward invention won a “farm gadget” award at last year’s Iowa State Fair Starting with an 8-row 26 ft wide John Deere 7000 planter Paul equipped it with homemade joints at each end These joints allow the two outside row planting units on each end to swing forward to a transport width of 14 1/2 ft The switch can be made in only 1 5 min A quick-release lever allows the joint to swing forward or locks the frame into position for planting The shaft which drives the planter also had to be jointed at the pivot points “Paul used it to plant 1 000 acres of corn and beans a year ago last spring and had no difficulty ” Mrs Teeter reports
