It was developed by company president Harold Scott, whose work with permanent magnet motors and high output alternators has drawn attention from Ford Motor Company, NASA, and the U.S. Navy. The Lightning Charger weighs just 15 lbs. yet cranks out 55 amps at 12 volts. It's also equipped with a twin 115-volt DC outlet that'll run emergency lighting and any handheld power tool. (Lance J.
