Sheep Milking Conveyor Belt LIVESTOCK Sheep/Goats 10-4-22 New sheep-milking conveyor belt moves animals on and off in a hurry and feeds them in the process.
Built by Fullwood, the mobile milker (which can also be used for goats) can be built to hold from 6 to 24 sheep. It's fitted with a wood slat conveyor belt that turns on two large rollers at either end. Each animal is held in place by headlocks on wooden "tombstone" slats, affixed to each of which is a feed bowl filled with grain from an overhead auger. The slats and feed troughs rotate with the conveyor belt.
Animals are herded onto the belt via a chute at one end. Once the belt's full, milker's are attached. When finished, the belt is rotated to the opposite end where the head locks are released and they file away down another chute.
A 12-sheep model sells for around $8,000, not including milking equipment.
