New Strap Chair Supports Your Back FARM HOME Health 11-2-31 "You can use it anywhere whether or not you have a bad back," says Victor Toso, inventor of a new "strap chair" that wraps around your knees and lower back to provide support when you're on backless chairs or benches or sitting on the ground. It can also be used in a conventional chair to provide added support.
The lightweight backsling consists of two adjustable straps connected to a foam back pad. You simply position the pad against your lower back and adjust the straps around your knees to a comfortable position. Toso says it's particularly useful on bleachers, in fishing boats, when camping or on picnics when you sit crosslegged on the ground, or even on tractor or other farm implement seats. One problem with using the seat on a tractor is that because it wraps around your knee it ties up the lower leg to a certain extent. Operators must make an effort to keep the leg free for braking and clutching.
The strap chair sells for $30.
