Once installed, you have all hot, all cold or a mix of the the two at a single outside tap.
The kit consists of a standard 12-in. frost-proof sill cock that's modified to allow hot water from an additional valve to mix in downstream of the cold water shut-off. The hot water valve has an extended valve stem and an outside knob. You can open up both valves for a mix, or either one for hot or cold. The valves won't freeze up no matter how cold it gets.
To install the kit, which sells for $39.95, you drill two holes in the side of the house and run hot and cold water lines to the valves. Shorter sill cocks ( 8 or 10 in.) are available.
