Easy To-Install Rail Fence System FENCING Fence Systems 18-5-13 Here's a rail fence you can put up fast without having to use nails or dig post holes.
Key to the system are "multi-directional" joints that attach to steel posts and support 1 1/2 by 5 1/2-in. wood or vinyl rails. The multi-directional joint allows the rails to swivel up or down on hillsides and from side to side on corners. A receiver attaches the multi-directional joint to the post using a friction-fit lock. An insulator built into the friction lock can be used to hold electric fence.
"It's comparable in price to an all-wood fence, but installs in only about one fourth as much time. You can put up 40 ft. of double rail fence in only 15 minutes," says Carol Cronkhite of The Fence Connection. "We've installed 208 ft. of triple rail fence in only one hour and 45 minutes. Each connector is 18 in. long."
Rail connectors sell for $4.65. Packaged in 12, 24, and 36-unit cases. Optional vinyl 8-ft. rails sell for $9.30. A package of 10 T Post caps sells for $8.
