Harrow Handler For Disks, Field Cultivators TILLAGE EUIPMENT Cultivators (16) 15-5-27 "For years farmers have told me they needed a quick-attach way to hook up harrows behind disks and field cultivators. We finally built the equipment to do the job," says Urb Badenhop, sales manager for Midwest Industries, Inc., Ida Grove, Iowa, manufcturer of a new harrow handling add-on rig. It uses your existing harrow sections and attaches to the back of a disk or cultivator at two points. It folds the harrows up with the implement, making transport easier. "One problem with mounting harrows behind a disk has always been that the sections al-ways seem to drag during transport. This rig solves that problem and the steerable rear caster wheel also lets you back up in the field by raising the harrow sections," says Badenhop, noting that unlike harrow carts that have come on the market in the past, this new rig close-couples to the disk or cultivator for good maneuverability. Down pressure adjusts with a single pin. An optional "Buster Bar" clod leveler can be mounted up front and a "Ridge Ripper" can be mounted behind the rear caster wheel to knock down the center ridge left by most disks and to loosen dirt packed by the caster wheel. The Ripper consists of two Danish tine teeth and four coil spring teeth. Ranges in size from 22 to 31 1/2 ft. Does not fit center-fold disks since it needs a solid center section to bolt to.
