Slick Way To Fix Flats On Livestock Trailers TIRES/WHEELS Handling 18-4-27 If you own a livestock trailer with rubber torsion axles, you'll be interested in Trailer-Aid, a slick way to change flat tires without a jack, and without having to remove the livestock being hauled.
Trailer-Aid is a wedge 6 in. wide and 24 in. long. To change a flat tire, you simply drive the good tire onto the Trailer-Aid. This will lift the flat tire off the ground (middle photo). Next step is to remove the flat tire and put on the spare (bottom photo).
The Trailer-Aid wedge, rated at 6-ton capacity, is made of high-strength polymer. It has built-in traction treads to help provide sure gripping in the worst of conditions.
In addition to changing flats, Trailer-Aid can be used as a safety chock when the trailer is parked. It's also handy for raising rear wheels when performing routine maintenance on brakes, wheels and axles.
