Developed by inventor Rob Wallace in Australia, the device can be fitted under any car seat, letting it swing forward and out at a right angle through the doorway. When the seat is fully extended, the passenger's body is completely outside the car, simplifying the task of standing up or transferring to a wheelchair. "It attaches with adaptor brackets that bolt onto the original seat mountings. You remove the original car seat, take out the subframe, and replace it with the brackets and a hinge mechanism. We generally in-stall the Easy Seat on the left side of the car, which is the passenger side in Australia, but we make versions for both the right and left hand sides of the car.
