First Portable Cattle Circle LIVESTOCK Handling 8-3-25 "It's the first portable cattle chute, as far as we know, with a circle working system," says inventor Gary Pinkelman, Hartington, Neb.
In the working position, the unit is 32 ft. long and has an 8 ft. working chute, a 16 ft. runway with 2 no-backs, and a 10 ft. circle equipped with an 8 ft. swing gate. You can direct animals into the circle from 2 directions ù the back and side. An added feature is that there's an entry door between the runway and working chute so you don't have to climb the panels to get in behind the animal.
To switch the unit to the 8 by 16 ft. transport position, you use a built-in winch and cable to hoist the rig so it's riding on its single axle. You then swing the working chute backwards so it sits parallel to the front part of the runway. Then, pull the pins holding the circle panels together and fold them in next to the rear of the runway.
Panel hangers let you carry additional gates on the unit. It weighs 3,250 lbs. and has a 60 lb. tongue weight.
Sells for $3,995. Models can be custom made and are available with optional squeeze chutes.
