Hansen, who learned to paint less than 5 years ago, specializes in reproducing old barns and farm scenes on discarded hand saws or power saw blades.
Before she paints on the saw, she removes rust and dirt with a wire brush, then puts on a coat of rust-proofing primer. She paints right on the primer coat with oil or acrylic paints. She has worked on all types of handsaws, circular saw blades and even large 2-man crosscut saws.
Cost ranges from "about $25 for a handsaw to $75 for a 2-man crosscut saw," Hansen told FARM SHOW. "I prefer to work from sight or memory, but I can also paint a picture of anyone's barn or farm if I have a photo to work from," she notes.
