Foot Butler Makes It Easy To Pull On Socks
Pulling on socks seems like an easy task until you have hip or back problems, which can make the simple task almost impossible without help.
But now, thanks to the new Rielyn Foot Butler, designed by Albert Reick and Harry Lynch, Oakville, Ont., people with problems can once again pull on their own socks.

Foot Butler Makes It Easy To Pull On Socks FARM HOME Clothes 8-4-31 Pulling on socks seems like an easy task until you have hip or back problems, which can make the simple task almost impossible without help.
But now, thanks to the new Rielyn Foot Butler, designed by Albert Reick and Harry Lynch, Oakville, Ont., people with problems can once again pull on their own socks.
Inspiration for the device came with Reick's hip surgery and subsequent inability to pull on his socks. Lynch, a retired engineer, set to work and developed the easy to use "arm extenders".
The 2-handed model consists of a pair of 13 in. long wooden rods and a pair of clamps which resemble those on battery jumper cables. The clamp jaws are lined on the inside with padded discs so as not to tear the socks.
The inventors note that the Foot Butler has other uses, including helping people pull on trousers, or to pick items off the floor. Sells for $20 (Canadian).
