With it, you can slow cook an entire meal for 8, 10 or 12 hours - without timing or tending. A lowwatt element (200? on "Lo" and 300? on "Hi") encircles thick stoneware at the sides, top and bottom. Foods cook slowly and evenly in a "blanket of heat" to bring out the best in flavor and nutrition. No stirring or timing.
Rival's new Crock-Oven has no thermostat, no intermittent heat and no hot spots, the manufacturer points out. It's big enough to slow cook a giant roast, whole ham, standing rib or 10 to 12 lb. ham or turkey. Or an entire meal. Just plug it in, forget about it and come back 8 to 12 hours later to a perfectly cooked meal. All in separate pans with each food retaining its own flavor, texture and shape.
