Retired Farmer Invents Automatic Pancake Maker FARM HOME Food 8-4-31 Retired farmer Jonas Kanagy, of Stuarts Draft, Virg., spent "10 years and about $5,000" perfecting his amazing new pancake machine. It's fully automatic and turns out flap-jacks fast enough to keep ahead of about 200 hungry people. The 800 lb. machine, which he transports in his pickup to custom-make pancakes for fund-raising breakfasts throughout the community, produces 60 flapjacks every three minutes ù and flips them without the help of a single human hand. Kanagy has patented his invention which, he feels, has wide application for automating pancake fund-raisers for churches, schools, and various clubs and organizations. "It cranks out ready-to-serve pancakes on its own so you don't have to line up a battery of volunteer cooks. And, it cleans itself when finished so you don't need a kitchen clean-up crew," he points out. "Best of all, pancake lovers don't have to stand in lines and wait to eat." The machine can be manufactured in any size to fit specific needs, says Kanagy. It can be heated by electricity or LP gas, the cakes can be sized as desired, and you can use your favorite pancake recipe.
