When John Stampe, Shipman, Ill., retired, he thought it might be interesting to set up a display made up of implements that had meant a lot to him in his early farming days.

Tribute To Regular IH Tractor TRACTORS Miscellaneous 4-4-21 When John Stampe, Shipman, Ill., retired, he thought it might be interesting to set up a display made up of implements that had meant a lot to him in his early farming days.
He started farming in 1926 using an International Harvester "Regular" which pulled a 2-bottom, 14-in. plow.
Stampe no longer has the Regular he started out with but was able to locate a duplicate for his antique tractor display. He keeps it, and the plow behind it, painted up in the original gray and red colors of their day.
Stampe's antique plow and tractor display is beautifully set off with well kept flowers and grass. Completed 7 years ago, it has attracted people from all over the United States who have stopped to take pictures.
Stampe still speaks admiringly of the "Old Regular": "It was the first tractor that was really reliable. You could go to the field with it and count on getting something done."
