"My new pull-type road grader is built rugged and simple and requires little maintenance. It sells for $4,295, yet does the job of a big self-propelled grader," says Brad Preslicka, Willmar, Minn.
The 20-ft. long, 2-wheeled grader is equipped with a 14-ft. blade that can be tilted from side to side or hydraulically set at a 55 degree angle in either direction. The rig has three hydraulic cylinders - one to raise or lower the machine, one to adjust blade angle, and one to adjust side-to-side tilt. A 2,700-lb. cement block mounts on top at the rear. The unit has a transport width of 9 ft. and can be pulled behind any 3/4-ton or larger pickup at highway speeds.
"Farmers and townships can use it for grading roads and driveways, making drain-age ditches in fields, maintaining terraces, etc.," says Preslicka. "Optional bolt-on blade ends let you use it as a box scraper. Another option is an oscillating tandem axle."
