Designed for getting tractors through mud, and primarily for getting crops out during wet field conditions, Vanderloop notes that the tracks have also been put on combines and would probably help in snow also.
The track features T-bar type cleats that give tires the extra grip. Linkage between bars is hinged so tracks self-clean to stay mud-free.
Spaced 9-in. apart, the T-bars are 2¢ in. deep and welded to the sidetrack irons. T-bar width varies with tire size. To mount, you drive over the Forager Tracs, much like you'd drive over a set of chains and then use a C-clamp to draw the two ends together for tightening. Tightness between each T-bar is also adjustable.
The Vanderloops have tracks to fit most tire sizes. Forager Tracs for a set of 18.4 tires sells for $1,800.
