Grain Buster Breaks Up Clogged, Crusted Grain CROP STORAGE Grain Storage 20-5-10 You'll never have to get into your grain bins to break up clogs again with this simple but effective new safety device in-vented by North Vernon, Ind., farmer Leonard Maschino.
Called the "Grain Buster", it consists of two 1/2-in. by 5-in. long bolts mounted on the front edge of slide gates at the bottom of each bin. They install by simply drilling two 1/2-in. dia. holes in the panel or welding two 1/2-in. nuts on the slide gate to screw them in.
Once installed, the bolts dislodge grain clogs when the slide gate is opened and closed. Bolts can be quickly removed to permit use of a bin sweep.
"Lenny hasn't had to get into a single bin to break up a clog since we installed ęGrain Busters' on all 16 of our bins in the last three years," notes Maschino's wife Tina. "Materials cost only about $2 apiece and they install in 15 minutes or less."
