New-Style Saw Buck WOODLOT EQUIPMENT Miscellaneous 10-5-34 If you cut lots of wood you'll be interested in this new-style saw buck that saves time cutting and holds lightweight logs tightly in place.
The new E-Z Saw consists of a log support and four support point teeth to adapt to various size logs. It's designed so the rest of the log dangles out in the open, unencumbered for easy cutting. Teeth in the support post also keep lighter logs from turning, which causes many of the accidents with chainsaws, according to company president Lowell Liebenstein, Production Fabricating, Inc., Grafton, Wis.
"Old-style saw bucks worked fine but they were designed for hand saws and the log is secured only by its own weight. It must also be continually moved forward as cuts are made. When you put a log in our new E-Z Saw, you don't have to touch it until you're done cutting," says Liebenstein.
Handles logs up to 8 in. in dia. Comes apart quickly for easy storage. Sells for $75. The company is looking for dealers.
