"The energy crunch, and the abundance of firewood in many areas, triggered a surge in sales. Because of our technical and engineering background in manufacturing coal-wood ranges and heaters, we've been able to swing right into accelerated production to keep pace with increasing demand."
Dohmann reports that many farm families are using Monarch's combination ranges to take out the chill in the spring and fall, or as a main source of heat, depending on how large the home is. "It's also a comfortable feeling to have a place for auxiliary cooking on top of the coal-wood section, and a source of heat in case the electricity goes off."
