To mount or dismount the flag, you slide the pole up and down rather than using a rope. One advantage of this design is that it allows the flag to be attached to swivel rings which allow the flag to fly more freely and turn in the wind. Also, the flag can be flown at different heights, including half mast. There are also accessories that allow you to fly two flags at one time. And when not in use, the attractive anodized aluminum pole - which can be fitted with an attractive gold ball on top - can be left unobtrusively in retracted position.
To mount, the pole simply slips into a PVC sleeve in the ground.
A 20-ft. pole (2 1/ 2-in. dia.) sells for $239. A 16-ft. pole (2 1/4-in. dia.) sells for $199.
