Adding Water To Penetrate The Ground Before Digging During Drought FENCING Techniques My son Chris and I had a single posthole to dig recently and we could only get down about 3 in with our gas-powered auger before we ran into hard ground that we couldn’t penetrate My son said we’d have to wait for rain and that made me remember how my Dad used to put water in postholes back in the 1950’s when we were digging in drought conditions So we put water in our hole and the next day we were able to get the job done Gary Swensen Yankton S D
