Exhaust-Powered Jack TRACTORS Accessories 8-6-7 Air bag exhaust-powered jacks for cars, trucks, tractors and other equipment are now available in the U.S., imported from Europe.
"It takes an idling engine running at around 3,000 rpm's about 30 sec. to inflate the bag," says David Kresl, vice president of IMEX International Sales, the importer. "The air jack requires only 6 to 8 psi to lift up to 4¢ tons. To lower the vehicle, the operator simply turns a double-locking safety valve on the rubber hose.
The air bag jack comes in three sizes that'll work on anything from small compact cars to grain trucks. The air hose fits most circular tail-pipes up to 2.4 in. in dia. The bag is made from a tough polyester mesh fabric triple-coated with three layers of PVC inside and out.
The air bag sells for $43.45, $54.90, and $65.90, for the 2¢ ton, 4 ton, and 4¢ ton models, respectively. The three bags lift to heights of 17, 22 and 25 in. Shipping is included.
