Self-Propelled Auger For Flat, Conventional Storage CROP STORAGE Grain Storage 9-6-22 You can load grain in or out of flat or conventional storage at the rate of about 4,000 bu. per hour with the new hydraulic, self-propelled "Big'Un" from Liset Engineering.
"Its low profile allows it to work in horizontal or flat storage sheds with limited ceiling clearance," explains Magna Liset, inventor-manufacturer. "For moving grain out of storage, it has sufficient reach to load the front end of a backed-in semi trailer. It'll completely fill a large semi in 10 minutes with dry or high moisture grain, and can be used to move dry fertilizer.
The 11-in. dia. Big 'Un is available 61.5 or 72 ft. long. The latter will fill bins up to 46 ft. high. Both models come with a standard rebuilt Holden engine (110 to 130 hp) but you can supply the power unit of your choice. Other key features include:
łA patented frame design which allows stability to improve as the auger is raised.
łNo auger shafts or sprockets.
łThe rig can turn on its own axis, thanks to hydraulic drive units on both of the two front wheels.
łThe auger reverses for easy, complete cleanout in switching from one crop to another.
łYou can drive the Big'Un down the road at up to 20 mph, or tow it behind a pickup at up to 40 mph.
