Dale decided instead to build his own detachable bale forks for his manure loader bucket. The forks also double as a fork-lift attachment for lifting skids or pallets of supplies.
The "Easy Tach" forks, as Ward calls them, can lift up to 3,000 lbs. with only the tractor bucket for support. The 68-in. forks are easily slipped in or out of permanent mounting brackets located about 4 to 6 in. in-side the cutting edge of the bucket.
The forks detach in seconds for storage, or when using the bucket for other chores, but the mountings stay in the bucket. "These permanent mountings don't affect bucket performance or capacity," according to Ward.
He says his Easy Tach forks fit most brands of tractor loaders and some skid loaders. They sell for $237 per pair, FOB LaPorte, Ind. Ward is looking for distributors and welcomes inquiries from manufacturers interested in taking over production.
