Zweegers Chopper HAY & FORAGE HARVESTING Forage Harvesters 12-1-23 A pair of 3-ft. dia. drums, fitted with crop-grabbing fingers, pull the crop into the new Zweegers chopper. Knives at the base of the drums cut stalks at ground level as they're pulled into the machine.
The 6-ft. wide, 2,500 lb. chopper works its way through any width rows. "We've simplified the design of this chopper compared to Kemper's. One drive system powers both the crop gathering drums and the cutting system so there's less maintenance. Grease joints can be easily reached for routine maintenance. Up-front snouts pick up any downed crop," says Zweegers product manager P.M. Bekkers.
Although the new chopper is not yet on the U.S. market, Zweegers hay and forage harvesting equipment is handled in North America by Vicon.
