Tipping Trailer Hauls Big Bales, Machinery HAY & FORAGE HARVESTING Bale Handling (5) 2-5-32 You've seen a lot of devices for hauling big round bales-but none quite like the Adams Big Bale Transporter.
In addition to loading, transporting, unloading and feeding round bales, the "tipping trailer" can be converted into a flatbed for hauling machinery simply by removing its detachable sides. With the sides on, the trailer serves as a portable selffeeder for hay or forages. It can also be used to transport livestock.
Developed in Scotland, The Adams multi-purpose transporter is being marketed in Canada and the U.S. by J.W.S. Machinery Co., Strathroy, Ont. It measures 20 ft. 6 in. long (25 ft. long including the draw bar) and 61/a ft. wide. A 4-position, multilevel axle allows for low loading. An under-frame, double-acting cylinder tips the trailer, allowing big round bales to roll free for unloading. The driver controls loading and unloading right from the tractor without leaving the seat.
To load big round bales, the transporter is backed up to the bale and the pickup arms lowered. The bale is then elevated and allowed to roll forward. For unloading, the front mounted hydraulic cylinder raises the front of the transporter and the bales roll free.
