Easy-Adjust X-Mas Tree Stand FARM HOME Novelty Items 8-6-30 You'll like this new no-nonsense Christmas tree stand that makes it easy to stand your tree up straight.
The key to the stand is an offset metal spike mounted on a sliding metal plate in the bottom of the galvanized steel stand. The bottom of the tree sticks onto this spike and is held in place by three braces. It is then repositioned by turning the metal slide until the tree pivots into its best upright position and is tightened into place with a wing nut.
"Unlike conventional tree stands, you can put this stand on while the tree is lying on its side and then, once the tree is standing, simply straighten it up," says inventor Harlan Halvorson, Easton, Minn. noting that the 1¢ gal. capacity tree stand also requires less refilling.
Halvorson sells the stand for $14.95 for trees up to 6 in. in dia. A larger model for trees up to 24 ft. high sells for $65.
