Made of four layers of Kevlar (the material used in bulletproof vests) sandwiched between two layers of heavy nylon, the chaps are about 3/4 of an inch thick yet weigh just 2 1/2 lbs., which makes them lighter than regular nylon chaps. They fasten in place around the waist and legs.
They come in green and are available in four lengths. Retail price for the 36-in. length is about $85.
