Stripper Peels Off Caked Manure MANURE HANDLING Equipment 8-1-29 "This machine does in minutes what used to take us hours to do and with a lot less effort," says Lamont Campbell, Dundee, N.Y., farmer and distributor of the "Stripper", a machine that strips caked manure off hog nursery and growing pens.
The Stripper features a razor sharp blade mounted on the front of the unit that oscillates at 2,000 strokes a minute to slice through caked manure, up to 4 in. thick, in pens, alleyways and slats without hurting the floor.
Campbell explains that the machine was designed for industrial uses such as stripping turf, ice and carpeting. He's used the machine in his hog barns for the past eight months and says it works great for stripping caked hog manure.
The unit, looking like a push-type lawn mower, is powered by a 3 hp. electric motor. It has 10 in. wheels and weighs 140 lbs. A 50 lb. weight is available for the front of the unit. Five blades, ranging from 6 to 13 in. wide, are available.
The Stripper sells for $790.
