Steel Stake Fertilizes Trees
To fertilize trees I take a 1-in. dia. steel stake about 3 ft. long and weld a 1/2-in. dia. by 1-ft. long handle across the top. I drive the stake down about 18 in. in 4 spots around the tree drip zone, then wiggle the stake around to enlarge the hole.
