New Easy-To-Read Remote Rain Gauge FARM HOME Miscellaneous 7-5-30 "I had the idea 29 years ago," says Adam Hauch, Westlock, Alberta, about his inexpensive new rain gauge that's easy to read from as far as 25 ft. away.
Hauch's new gauge is bigger than almost any other rain gauge at 16 1/2 in. tall. It's designed with an upper funnel-shaped mouth that's 4 times the size of the gauge tube itself so that every inch of rain that falls registers as 4 in. inside the gauge. A strip of orange backing tape on the back of the gauge is magnified as rain fills the tube so that the back of the tube looks solid orange up to the top of the water level, making it easy to read from inside the house or any other remote location.
The gauge mounts quickly on any white background with two mounting brackets. It'll measure up to 3 in. of rainfall.
