FARM SHOW Writer Gets Her Hands Dirty FARM HOME Miscellaneous For the past 5 years contributing editor Dee Goerge has been writing 20 to 30 FARM SHOW stories for every issue If you’ve had the pleasure of talking to her you know she’s more than capable of getting into the nitty gritty of farm equipment Dee’s never been afraid to get her hands dirty She grew up on a Michigan farm and went on to marry Scott Hendershot a chainsaw carver who also puts up custom log homes When Scott’s putting up a new home he often enlists Dee’s help She scribes logs packs wool batting between logs to insulate helps with the finishing work inside the homes and does whatever else is needed to get the job done Dee and Scott live in northern Minnesota but recently sold the home pictured here to a cattle rancher in South Dakota Logs were notched and cut in Minnesota before being numbered disassembled and then trucked to the ranch where a slab had already been poured just a couple hundred yards from a couple Harvestore silos When Dee’s on the road she’s always scouting for FARM SHOW stories If you’ve got a possible story idea you can reach her by email dee_goerge@yahoo com or phone 877 410-2580
