Barn Frame Displays Toys And Photo BUILDINGS Miscellaneous A creative way to display toy tractor collections recently caught our attention Arlen Byard of St Paul Ind builds 8-in deep display barns that hang on the wall like a picture His barns include space for a large photo and several small toys “My neighbor bought a photo at a tractor show of an International tractor and asked me to build a frame ” Byard explains “I decided to make a picture frame that looked like a barn ” As a toy collector himself more than 500 pieces Byard added shelves for toys At 54 by 36-in there’s plenty of room for a good size photo 18 by 20-in and several 1/16-scale toys Byard used poplar for the frame and finished the floor with cedar Even the metal roof was made to scale by creating ridges 3 in apart with a roller attachment on an electric drill “I’ve since made one with wood shingles but most are metal I can get metal to match every tractor color ” Byard says Prices vary according to complexity he says As an example one barn picture frame sold for $400 Contact: FARM SHOW Followup Arlen Byard 6586 West County Rd 300 N St Paul Ind 47272 ph 812 662-7102
