Leg Support Keeps Farmer Moving MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT Handicapped Equipment 32-5-5 When Dennis Wise, Girard, Ill., fell off a scaffold and shat-tered his left leg, the doctor told him to stay off it for 6 months. Not being the kind of guy who could do nothing for that long, Wise approached local fix-it man Gene Boehler to see if he could set something up on his Gravely mower so he could at least take care of the family's large lawn. Boehler made a leg rest out of a piece of tubing from a grain auger, split in half. He fitted it with an adjustable mounting bracket that makes it easy to move the leg support up or down. Wise reports that he's been using the zero-turn mower all summer at speeds up to 14 mph with no problem.
