Portable Scaffold Fits Most Windows FARM HOME Miscellaneous 2-4-25 High-level windows are easy to wash or paint with Port-A-Skaf, a portable scaffold that "lets you do all your outside window work quickly and safely," says Distributor Sales, of Woodstock, Ill., marketer of the new product.
It installs in seconds from inside and fits most windows. "Just push the lightweight Port-A-Skaf out from inside your window, step out onto it, hang a bucket of water on the convenient hooks and your're ready to wash the outside window. Both hands will be free," James Barren, of Distributor Sales, points out. The Port-A-Skaf can also be used on first floor windows to avoid damaging plants. It folds flat and expands or contracts to fit the width of each window.
The portable unit, supported over the sill of the window, can safely hold over 1,000 lbs., according to Barren It can be stored in an upstairs closet for standby use as a fire escape balcony.
Weighing 19 lbs., it's made of tubular steel, chrome-plated for complete weather proofing. Rigid platform is made of 3 in. plywood.
