Fabric-Roofed Building Has Solid Sides BUILDINGS Miscellaneous 31-6-18 This new free-span building has solid sides with a fabric roof, which allows clear spans up to 200 ft. wide, says the manufacturer, We Cover Structures. Trusses made from round steel tubing install on 12-ft. centers. Each 12-ft. section has its own individual fabric panel tightened by a tensioning wheel at the overhang. Being able to individually tighten each fabric panel allows more consistent tension across the entire building. Special watertight joints between fabric panels makes the individual roof sections possible. Expected life of the fabric roof is equivalent to the paint finish on a steel clad building. The side walls can be made from sheet metal, wood, concrete or brick. The cost of the building is not its main selling point, says the company. It's the versatility of what you can do with it.
