I was a mechanic for many years and I've seen the damage ether can do to an engine. If you use too much, it can blow the bearings right off the crankshaft û that's how explosive it can be. The thing is, you should never have to use either if you keep your tractor tuned, keep the air cleaner clean, and keep up on other maintenance. Unless your tractor is set up from the factory with an ether-starting system, using ether is a very dangerous habit to get into."
