It takes a few minutes to install the 7 1/2 by 5 1/2-in. solar panel and two-lamp unit. The unit detaches easily so you can also use it as a portable light.
It comes with a 16-ft. cord that transfers power from the solar panel to the light. The nickel cadmium battery lasts between 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years.
"It needs to charge for 6 days before you use it the first time," says Peter Kashinsky, company representative. "It takes two days with great sun to fully recharge or 6 days with bad sun."
