Nature Sound Doorbell FARM HOME Miscellaneous 29-1-31 m and Kathy Beni of Dallas Center, Iowa, have invented a doorbell that emits animal calls and other sounds, rather than the traditional ding-dong or buzz. Their "Nature Sound Doorbell" even has the ability to record and play any sound of your choosing, including your own voice or that of your children or grandchildren. The new doorbell was born when a hunting enthusiast who was remodeling his home wanted to know why, with all the computer stuff and electronic gadgets on the market, he couldn't find a doorbell with the sound of a bugling elk. "With the help of a friend that designs circuit boards, we came up with a completely programmable unit that allows you to either choose from a wide variety of pre-recorded sounds, or record your own. Pre-recorded sounds include a rooster, cow, horse, turkey, bear, elk, moose wolf, loon, hawk, geese, cardinal, songbird, quail, pheasant, elephant, chimp, lion and thunder," says Jim. "Because it's programmable, you can change the two sounds - one for the front door and another for the back door - as often as you want, just like a telephone answering machine," he explains. Direct wire models are priced at between $129 and $159, while wireless units range from $139 to $169.
