Power Agitator Prevents Grain Bin Plug-Ups CROP STORAGE Grain Storage 8-5-3 New for grain storage bins is a spinning power agitator that breaks up crusty and frozen chunks to prevent plugging of the unloading auger.
Invented by Willard Tracy, Ocheyedan, Iowa, the power agitator fits on a gearbox installed at the "hopper" end of 6, 8, or 10 in. dia. unloading augers. The unloading auger powers the gearbox which, in turn, powers the agitator.
To install the gearbox, you cut off a section of the unloading auger's flighting and attach the gearbox to the end of the auger with one pin. A shear bolt holds the agitator in place on the gearbox shaft.
When the unloading auger is running, the agitator's four long "fingers" rotate to chew into and break up crusty or frozen grain chunks.
The power agitator sells for $238. Dealer inquiries welcomed.
