Cooling Fan Bolts To Tractor Rollbar TRACTORS Accessories 27-5-44 William Russ was tired of sweating while mowing in hot weather, so he came up with the idea of mounting a fan on the rollbar on his riding mower. It worked so well he decided to put it on the market.
He enclosed a downdraft 16-in. 12-volt fan in a 2 by 3-ft. steel frame. Using custom-made brackets, he secured the frame to the rollbar of his mower and rigged up a waterproof switch to turn it on and off. The fan hooks directly to the battery and rotates at 1,700 rpm's, providing plenty of air flow even on the hottest days.
The fan mounts on any rollbar or canopy on tractors, backhoes, mowers and other equipment. A variety of mounting brackets are available for most brands of machinery. The basic fan with switch sells for $225.
