Ridge-Till Sprayer Built From Salvaged Parts
Tom Belton, Indianola, Ill., took parts from a variety of machines to come up with this one-of-a-kind self-propelled sprayer for ridges. He raises both corn and soybeans on ridges.
The main frame is from an old hi-boy sprayer. He fitted it with a Perkins 318 4-cyl. engine salvaged from a Massey Ferguson Super 90.

Ridge-Till Sprayer Built From Salvaged Parts SPRAYING Miscellaneous 19-4-10 Tom Belton, Indianola, Ill., took parts from a variety of machines to come up with this one-of-a-kind self-propelled sprayer for ridges. He raises both corn and soybeans on ridges.
The main frame is from an old hi-boy sprayer. He fitted it with a Perkins 318 4-cyl. engine salvaged from a Massey Ferguson Super 90. The sprayer has a 3-speed transmission hooked to a hydrostatic drive from a Deere combine. The engine shaft-drives the hydrostatic drive.
The cab came off an IH 815 combine. It's air conditioned.
The sprayer's fitted with tractor-type saddle tanks and carries a total of 400 gal. The 16-row boom was built from scratch and folds hydraulically. It's equipped with Red Ball spray hoods for banding chemicals. They make it possible to operate in windy conditions.
