Motorize Your Bike Or Scooter FARM HOME recreation 25-5-31 Motorizing a bike or scooter is easy and quick with this do-it-yourself kit from a Pennsylvania company.
"Everything is included," says Carl Kollar, owner of Diverse Electronic Service. "When you take it out of the box, just attach a motor and two 12-volt batteries, and you're off and running."
The system includes a controller, wire harness and a 24 to 12-volt power converter. The converter makes it possible to operate 12-volt accessories, such as lights and horn. Also included is an antitheft device that disables the system until a signal is received from a key chain mounted transmitter. Two LED displays monitor battery voltage and current use.
The system sells for $100 or components can be purchased separately.
