Plastic Funnel Has Screw-On Caps ENERGY Miscellaneous 14-1-25 "I got tired of trying to keep funnels clean," says O.H. Pattison, a Clovis, New Mexico, farmer who's come up with a first-of-itskind plastic funnel with a screw-on cap at either end.
To make his first funnel, Paulson cut the bottom out of a plastic oil jug and then glued threads from a wide mouth plastic jar to the bottom of the jug. The prototype worked so well he decided to develop the idea commercially with the help of his sons Will and Roger. They received a patent on the funnels and made their own molds to manufacture them.
"Interest is fantastic. We've already sold 600 funnels, mostly by word of mouth. We're negotiating with distributors to sell them nationwide," says Pattison, who makes 7 different models with varying length filler spouts and flexible necks.
A set of three different funnels with long, short and medium length spouts sells for $9.95 (plus postage). Funnels can also be purchased individually.
