The kit consists of a series of bolt-on steel plates that install inside the grain tank over the top of the auger that feeds into the unloading auger. The plates measure 6 in. wide and 2 ft. long. The 9000 series Deere combines require nine plates. The 9400, 9500, and 9600 models require a combination of short and long plates.
"Deere offers plates similar to ours as an option, but they cost much more. As far as we know, other combine brands don't have this problem to the extent that Deere combines do," says Croissant.
Plates for one combine sell for $249 (Canadian).
The company also sells replacement skid plates for Deere and Case-IH grain headers. "They sell for $1,250 Canadian which is about 40 percent less than factory plates," says Croissant.
